Brief:

Commissioned by non-profit organisationTabeisa to shortlist their Design4Life Fashion Design Competition which engages young fashion students in South Africa.

Process:

From a group of over 100 entries 20 shortlisted designs were chosen for the appropriateness of their dress designs for the British market and the effectiveness and simplicity of the batik designs which are produced by a woman's cooperative in Ghana.

Result:

The shortlisted designers for Tabeisa Design4life Africa competition were announced in July 2008 and a fashion show promoting their designs was held in Cape Town in October 2008. Tabeisa will produce several designs for their next Exclusive Roots catalogue collection.
